Reduce costs.
Simplify.
Much needed if it works.
Funded by Facebook?

Actually should not cost much if done right.

Re: NO tea coffee chocolate alcohol tobacco. Move to a large city

Always seek large samples of data.
You can always find outliers who do not conform to the overall trend.
Especially when big company $ hold up freaks to be paradigms - traditional fake news.
Don't try to be a copy cat freak because you cannot copy everything the freak did.

In many cases the freaks are fakes.
$ pay an 30 year old hippie to say they are a 90 year old veteran and how vices are good for you.
You can't tell by looking. You don't have to pay them much $ to get them to say anything.
It is very hard to verify identity, age, even under the best circumstances as the Obama birth certificate controversy showed.
Measure, verify everything.

The quoted study is for lots of people over a long time.
The huge disparity of death rates are not due to genetics.
Genes do not vary that much between large populations in the USA.
Genes do not change very fast over 50 years.
Death rates vary due to diet, exercise, lifestyle, electronics, TV etc.
You can also vary your own diet and lifestyle to get similar results experimenting on yourself.
And move a lot and do lots of different sports and meet lots of people to learn the same facts by observation.
One reason I am in the midwest findings and rumors confirmed by reality.
What little genetic variation there is says different sets of foods must be used and different exercises appropriate.
Takes some study and work to optimize any person / sport.

In Rome do as the Romans do, and experience the same syndromes.
Move to a large healthy state and do what the healthiest people in that state do.
Move to Hawaii, go to the beach, and eat Japanese food.

Trump drain the swamp

Wayne Allyn Root commentary in the Las Vegas Review Journal on Sunday, May 21, 2017:

Famed actor and director Mel Gibson has written this script before. This is how the entire government and corrupt powers that be joined together in a massive conspiracy against Sir William Wallace in "Bravehart".
And against Jesus himself in "The Passion of Christ".

It didn't end well either time. Jesus and Sir Walter spoke for the people. And the state fought back--hard and viciously. It's happening again. Donald Trump is certainly no Jesus Christ. Trump is flawed like any other human being. But he is nonetheless facing one of the most intense, over- the-top, attacks ever seen.

The people who want to control our lives are frightened to death of Donald Trump. Trump is dangerous. They've clearly decided something must be done about it.
Here's a partial list of the suspects:

The top officials at the "Deep State", the FBI, CIA, NSA.

The crooks and extortion artists running government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration and the IRS.

Establishment GOP politicians such as John McCain, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan.

There are hundreds of the, bought and paid for by the lawyers, lobbyists, consultants and billion-dollar, multinational corporations.

The big shots who run America's media, many of whom are related to the big shots running our government and billion-dollar corporations.

The D.C. establishment: lawyers, lobbyists, consultants and publicists, who all survive on government contracts.

Millions of federal government employees scared of losing power.

All the organizations who make billions off government contract, scams and "investments" such as Obamacare, climate change and green energy.

And of course, Democrat politicians and operatives such as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder, Jon Corzine, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen-to name just a few on the left who have never been held accountable for their corrupt actions.

Trump threatens a whole lot of powerful people. They all have so much to lose. That's why they are all frightened paranoid and hysterical. So, they have to stop him--at all costs. Not just stop him, destroy him. They need to send a clear message so no one ever tries to educate, enlighten or empower the masses ever again.

Trump must be neutralized and silenced, before this goes too far. Before the people start to really believe they are the masters, not the servants.

Remember Trump's great words only days ago at Liberty University. He said: "In American we don't worship government, we worship God". That's one of the greatest lines in the history of the presidency. But those words cemented in the minds of the D.C. power-that-be that Trump has to be stopped. The gates of hell opened up immediately after that speech went viral.

This isn't just an old-fashioned "attack". This is a coordinated Big Brother conspiracy to destroy Trump. It's not just the left. It's also the GOP establishment, the media, the CIA and NSA - all united to stop Trump from turning off the spigot of magical, never-ending taxpayer money.

This is our last shot at saving America. If we don't back Trump now, it's all lost forever. It's time to fight like it's the end of freedom, the end of capitalism, the end of America. Because it is.

Either take a stand now, or forever remember the day you gave away your children's and grandchildren's freedoms and futures.

Computers have been making sharp clear scientific graphics for decades.
Get the raw data and do the graphics yourself.
No need to put up with bullshit nowadays.

Read The Great Extinctions by Norman MacLeod
Very colorful detailed short book, useful, on genuine paper.
Says that most extinctions are involved with global cooling.

Warm helps plants and animals grow that are needed for food and life.
Cold, freezing kills off food sources; kills plants; kills animals; grows ice caps;  shrinks oceans; and leads to droughts and desertification of inner continental areas.

Currently living species represent only 1% of all species that have lived.
It is estimated that less than 5% of all fossils species are known to man.

Stage level extinction looks at the percent of species lost
While the big five extinctions are evident,
Some 95 % of all extinctions have happened at other than the big five events

Proximate extinction mechanisms are the conditions that cause extinctions such as global cooling or sea level change,
while ultimate extinction mechanisms are those that induce the change such as volcanoes or asteroid hits.

Proximate Extinction mechanisms:

- Global cooling is increased by variation in solar radiation, atmospheric composition (reduction in greenhouse gases) and cloud cover.
An increase in cloud cover increases the earth's albedo reflecting more radiation back into space.
Low sea levels are cooling as the oceans absorb radiation.

- Sea-level change occurs as the amount of glaciation changes, but also as a result of plate tectonics where swelling of the mid-ocean ridges reduces the volume of the ocean basins.
Continentality occurs when lower sea levels expose more land which heats more readily, increasing the dryness of the isolated interiors.

- Marine anoxia when the pycocline, separating the upper well oxygenated waters from the lower less oxygenated waters, is strengthened by temperature or salinity differences.
Rising sea levels can expose continental shelves to low oxygen waters, leading to the extinction of species adapted to greater oxygen levels.

-  Atmospheric circulation strongly influences heat and precipitation patterns, and can be changed by mountain uplift, extensive icefields and large volcanic eruptions.
Ocean circulation is governed by the shape of the ocean basins These circulations affect the distribution of anoxic bottom water.

Ultimate Extinction mechanisms include variation in solar radiation, plate tectonics, volcanism, meteor, comet and asteroid impacts.

The Pre-cambrian Extinction

Cambrian Biomere Extinctions -
Sea level change and anoxia are best supported as the mechanisms for these extinctions.

End-Ordovician Extinctions -
a period of warm climate, but low oxygen levels.
It is generally thought that the proximate cause was sudden glaciation and possible changes to deep oceanic water circulation bringing anoxic water into the shallows.
The glaciation lasted a short 500,000 years before returning to a warm climate creating a strong oceanic thermocline again driving anoxic water into the continental shelves.

Late Devonian Extinctions -
Proximate causes appear to be sea level rise, global cooling and anoxia.
Ultimate causes include inconclusive suggestions of bolide impact and Volcanic
However, the late extinction appears to have been a result of extensive glaciation

Late Permian Extinctions - span an interval of about 5 million years.
The sea level rose at at moderate pace through the late Permian and are not considered a proximate cause.
Evidence exists of high temperatures due to continentality, and of marine anoxia.
As to ultimate causes, The prime suspect are the Siberian Traps which extruded basaltic lava.

Late Triassic Extinctions -
While the sea level rose gradually through the Triassic due to continental movement, it dropped sharply toward the end
Black shales indicate the spread of oxygen poor oceanic water over the continental shelves.
While the Guarda crater in Portugal is dated to the late Triassic, there is little other evidence of it having a role in this extinction.
Extensive volcanism occurred in the Central Atlantic Magmatic Province (CAMP) at the end of the Triassic and put further stress on the biosphere.

End-Cretaceous Extinctions -
80 percent of the activity occurred over as little as 50,000 years at the end of the Cretaceous.
Proximate extinction mechanisms are generally considered to be cooling and ozone depletion due to the volcanism.
There is a difference of opinion in the scientific community as to whether the Chicxulub impact was a cause of the Cretaceous extinction.

Palaeogene Extinctions -
While cooler tan the Cretaceous, climates were warmer than today.
At the end of the Palaeocene, the Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM) occurred.
Temperatures fell in the late Eocene, as did the sea level (100 m).
Both extremes produced extinctions.
The south polar ice-cap formed in the late Eocene.
The separation of Antarctica and the establishment of deep water currents resulted in long term cooling.
Volcanism in the  was a second factor.

Neogene and Quaternary Extinctions -
The Pleistocene was characterized by very cold temperatures and extensive glaciation, with warmer periods termed the interglacials.
The Milankovitch Cycles produce a 100,000 year periodic variation in climate that are evident over the past 400,000 years.
While overall extinctions were low, megafaunal extinctions were
70 percent in North America,
80 percent in South America,
81 percent in Australia,
but few in Europe and Asia.
The climate change hypothesis sees the cause as physical and biotic changes to the environment.
The overkill hypothesis sees the cause as human hunting and habitat changes

Modern Extinctions -
While it appears that modern extinctions are greater than historical,
largely due to human disruption of the environment,
they fall short of the great extinctions where entire categories of habitat were destroyed.

In conclusion,
The Single Cause (SC) concept of extinction has given way to the Multiple Interacting Causes (MIC) concept.
Sea level change and Large Igneous Province (LIP) volcanic events correlate well with extinction intensities, while bolide impacts do not.

The People's Pharmacy

Show 1080: What Works for Pain and Why

Pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care.

But physicians often face a dilemma when they treat joint pain, back pain or muscle spasms with prescription pills.

Drugs that relieve pain effectively frequently carry frightening side effects, especially over the long term.

Problems with NSAIDs for Pain

Relief:

Doctors usually rely on a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Cataflam, Voltaren), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB), meloxicam (Mobic) or naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn)
to treat arthritis or other inflammatory diseases.

But these pills can harm the kidneys and increase the possibility of a heart attack or stroke if they are used for more than a short time.

Limited Pain Relief from Steroid Joint Injections:

Likewise, steroids such as prednisone or methylprednisolone calm inflammation well but pose hazards even in short term use.

What about steroid injections?

New research demonstrates that repeated injections into an arthritic knee do not help the pain, but they do speed cartilage loss.

Arthroscopic surgery, though extremely popular, is not supported by research data either.

Will Home Remedies Provide Pain Relief?

As a result, people in pain find themselves in a difficult situation.
Should they try home remedies for pain relief?
Perhaps.
Sometimes simple remedies can work reasonably well in the short term.
Recent scientific advances in the study of transient receptor potential (TRP) channels help explain how some old-fashioned approaches work.

magnetic fields affecting you

Move if your magnetic field disagrees with you.
Beware of any large moving iron steel ferrous objects such as cars, trains, planes, etc.
Beware of small moving ferrous objects such as refrigerator motors, computer hard disk drives, garbage disposals, drills, pumps, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, etc.
Electrical autos probably an impending health disaster.
Electro magnetics not well understood.
Disease not well understood.
If you sense a problem change everything!
 especially location, diet, exercise, education,...
Before problem the problem kills you.
Even if you don't sense a problem move to a new state every few years so problems don't build up undetected.
Not just magnetics and electronics, other problems:
germs, pollution, allergens, people, animals, insects, plants, bad culture, radon, bad air, lack of sunlight, etc.
Growth requires change.

I remember eerie feelings when walking around remote areas in New Mexico
Maybe the strange magnetic field around there.
New Mexico is known as the Land of Enchantment
Very unpopulated, maybe never explored.
Often very beautiful and rugged.
Maybe a landing site for extraterrestrials

Take all the pre-med classes and related sciences.
Eat Asian food. Detoxify. kim-chee, miso, natto, turmeric, ginger, etc. properly cooked.
Run tests on yourself to see what is out of balance and microbome.
Probably too much lead, iron, arsenic or heavy metals.
Activated by electromagnetic energy.
Built up over decades - USA has lead mines etc. nearby in water, air, foods, etc.
Doctors don't see many such cases so you have to learn it yourself.
Everybody has many imbalances and you don't know what they are without study and tests.

Watch healthy people eat, exercise, work, study, socialize, etc.
Do what they do. Watch thousands to get a good fix on them.
Most people can take huge amounts of radiation with no obvious ill effects.
I have used huge 1 acre computers and electronics nearly 50 years no problems until I got an ipod 2012.

Use those in the daytime with everybody else.

But that will not solve the underlying biochemical issues.
You cannot get away from the sun or earth magnetic fields.
Must detoxify from all heavy metals that absorb energy.

People often lack horizontal mobility so get stuck in bad places suffering from learned helplessness cannot escape.

Electricity beats oil. 2 V

Yes - batteries are heavy and inefficient.
Stated another way you can get a lot of range and performance from a few gallons of diesel in a light vehicle 3 cylinder engine.
An equivalent electric vehicle would be much more expensive, heavier and take longer to refill.
I won't believe in electric until they produce much cheaper vehicles.

Of course around here people like expensive large vehicles and can plug in at home to avoid trips to filling station.
Electric will have to get the costs down to get to a mass market.
So far a electric big government boondoggle that subsidizes inefficient technology.
Electric cannot use fat slobs to make the vehicles as in the attached article on injuries.

Electricity is free around here at various shopping center and other plugin stations, right now!
Electricity is cheaper for cars because they charge up at night when electricity is cheaper off-peak.
Electricity is another form of fossil fuels, mostly, but much easier to deliver thru little wires instead of hauling around in trucks that is very inefficient and dangerous.
Good hobby project: convert a pickup with dead engine; use the big bed - fill with used batteries cheap - then get free electric from free charging stations.
Lifetime free transportation.

The key to transportation is to reduce distances between work, home, play, medical, shopping, etc.
Airborne can help - dock dirigible to Empire State Building as was the original plan, escape to Australia if SHTF.
Get rid of roads, convert to horse trails can traverse the continent without any fossil fuels or electricity.

Excessive electricity and fossil fuels in general are a leading cause of health problems.
Use human power exercise, natural sunlight, fresh air, natural farming methods, hunting and gathering.

Never forecast anything - especially the future.

Joe,

I think that it is becoming more energy intensive to get a barrel of oil out of the ground.
However current battery technology contains about 1% of the energy density of a gallon of gasoline.
They have been trying to improve battery technology for decades with very little progress.

For the scenario presented below to happen, battery technology will have to improve by a factor of ten or twenty. I am not confident that that is possible from a theoretical standpoint.

I have been hoping this would happen for years to make battery-powered flight possible. So far there is not much progress.

Alan

I want to know where all the electricity will come from to recharge and manufacture all the batteries. Also to manufacture all the cars, trucks, airplanes, road maintenance vehicles, etc, etc.
Currently it's mainly coal, nuclear, and natural gas. The others are a combined small fraction.

It will not work if electric cars cost more, electricity costs more, or total cost of ownership of electric is much more.

All fossil-fuel vehicles will vanish in 8 years in twin 'death spiral' for big oil and big autos, says study that's shocking the industries

No more petrol or diesel cars, buses, or trucks will be sold anywhere in the world within eight years. The entire market for land transport will switch to electrification, leading to a collapse of oil prices and the demise of the petroleum industry as we have known it for a century.

This is the futuristic forecast by Stanford University economist Tony Seba. His report, with the deceptively bland title Rethinking Transportation 2020-2030, has gone viral in green circles and is causing spasms of anxiety in the established industries.

Seba's premise is that people will stop driving altogether. They will switch en masse to self-drive electric vehicles (EVs) that are ten times cheaper to run than fossil-based cars, with a near-zero marginal cost of fuel and an expected lifespan of 1 million miles.

Only nostalgics will cling to the old habit of car ownership. The rest will adapt to vehicles on demand. It will become harder to find a petrol station, spares, or anybody to fix the 2,000 moving parts that bedevil the internal combustion engine. Dealers will disappear by 2024.

Cities will ban human drivers once the data confirms how dangerous they can be behind a wheel. This will spread to suburbs, and then beyond. There will be a "mass stranding of existing vehicles". The value of second-hard cars will plunge. You will have to pay to dispose of your old vehicle.

It is a twin "death spiral" for big oil and big autos, with ugly implications for some big companies on the London Stock Exchange unless they adapt in time.

The long-term price of crude will fall to US$25 a barrel. Most forms of shale and deep-water drilling will no longer be viable. Assets will be stranded. Scotland will forfeit any North Sea bonanza. Russia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Venezuela will be in trouble.

cherry olive turmeric colon cancer great health foods with brand recommendations

Turmeric prevents and cures colon cancer because it sits in colon poorly absorbed killing cancer cells in the colon.
What little gets absorbed chases down and kills cancer stem cells so they can not spread cancer thru the body.
Been used thousands of years in China and India and tastes good and looks good bright yellow Frenchs mustard.
Cheap powder I get packets for 80 cents at Asian grocery store, or 1 pound jars for $7

Cherries reduce soreness after hard exercise so you can exercise more, and totally cures joint pain that I experienced very dramatically February 2000

Olives are very powerful. Some cheap store brands can be better than expensive labels

Show 1079: What Is the Science Behind Fabulous Foods for Health?
Learn about the scientific support for the health benefits of three fabulous foods: olive oil, cherries and curcumin. How do you choose the best?

Which fabulous foods can make a difference for our health? There might be too many to count. For this show, we are focusing on the science supporting the health benefits of just three power-packed foods: olive oil, curcumin and cherries.

Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Is One of the Fabulous Foods:
Olive oil is a pillar of the Mediterranean diet. Studies show that this eating pattern cuts your chance of developing heart disease, diabetes or other chronic conditions.
What is it about olive oil that makes it so good for you? How can you choose the best olive oil?

Curcumin to Fight Cancer?
An Asian spice, turmeric, has been getting a lot of attention in research labs.
One principal component, curcumin, has anti-inflammatory activity. It can benefit a tremendous variety of health conditions.
In particular, it shows great promise against colon cancer, as our guest Ajay Goel, PhD, points out.

Cherries to Keep Muscles from Getting Sore?
Tart cherries, such as Montmorency cherries, have a surprising super-power.
Taken before and after a major athletic competition such as a marathon, they reduce muscle soreness and speed healing.
People who drink cherry juice have better endurance as well.

Good points Lothar, vis a vis sleep is critical, proximity warnings etc. 4x4 may be overrated but might be useful if you could wind your way around the multitudes of stranded (fuel-less) vehicles on roads. I am still looking for a 4 runner as well, but diesel with AC.
Don't forget to keep a few pairs of dark safety glasses ($1 at harbor freight) and paper dust masks in the vehicle to thwart facial scanners.

That vehicle looks too much like a coffin. Look for something higher/bigger and rugged. Emergency exits at the TOP, SIDES, REAR are important, to be able to successfully shoot yourself out of any situation.
'Peddling' your way out of a SHTF situation will be tough. Keep your 4 Wheel Drive to survive uncertain times.
In a lawless situation would you not rather have a decent vehicle that CAN go anywhere ? What would you "steal' in a civil war survival mode ? A smart car or a Jeep ? I'm sold on 4Runners, comfortable [with memory foam mattress] for emergency sleep, for a 6'2 person like myself. Secure Sleep is important !
Enough room for your emergency supply. Stick your magnetic [all around 360] build in sensors on top of your vehicle at night, to alarm [beep] you if anybody approaches your vehicle within 40'.
You wouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight, would you ?
I would call THIS BELOW a waste of money !

Good one. Showed it to a young Marine I work with. He fell over laughing

4x4 style for Eloi Obama voters consumers.

Eloi buy 4x4 to look macho.
Most are never used off road.
4x4 is style not function.
Adds weight and complication.
Additional points of failure and expense to repair.
A 2wd pickup can handle most situations.
Walking can do the rest.
People must learn to walk.
Use it or lose it.
All fossil fuel leads to degeneration and reverse evolution to Eloi who cannot support themselves but exist as consumable food and Obama voters and Obamacare big government consumers.
