Figured some of this out in elementary school.
In Middle school I could pedal an adult sized bike to library downtown and walk around in 102 degree heat I thought not bad at all, just normal.
Bike home 2 miles directly into the sun hottest time of the day no problem, never a concern.
As a Teenager I was amazed how the sun impacted mood and health, felt supercharged in middle of summer shirtless in bright sun 100 degrees..

Hamblin Phd is a researcher and associate professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School.

He's also a principal investigator at The Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a member of the

Harvard MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.

• One of the most beneficial wavelengths of light is the near-infrared (810 to 830 nm), which penetrates deep into your body and has many biological effects.

Far-infrared is absorbed by water, which is why it cannot penetrate as deeply

• Far-infrared exerts biological effects primarily by altering protein structures, mediated by nanostructured water

• Near-infrared primarily targets the cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria, causing dissociation of nitric oxide and increasing electron transport and ATP synthesis

One of the most commonly used wavelengths of light is the near-infrared, which starts at about 750 nanometers (nm) and goes all the way into 1,200 nm.

Near-infrared in the lower range penetrates well into the body and has many beneficial biological effects.

Wavelengths beyond 1200 nm have very limited ability to penetrate deeply into the body.

Another type of infrared radiation commonly used is far-infrared, which also has biological effects.

That's the type of infrared you get from an infrared heat lamp or far-infrared sauna.

an infrared heat lamp will give off mostly far-infrared; about 10 percent of the energy is near-infrared.

biological chromophores (light-absorbing chemicals) in photobiomodulation are the mitochondrial enzyme called cytochrome c oxidase (COO) and simple water.

Far-infrared is absorbed by water, which is why it cannot penetrate as deeply as the lower near-infrared range.

The higher near-infrared wavelengths are also absorbed by water.

how does the light affect your biology? Hamblin explains:

"The answer is that this is a concept called nanostructured water

Nanostructured water is present on hydrophobic surfaces, like certain kinds of cell membranes.

It could be inside the cell in various organelles, in the plasma membrane, the mitochondrial membrane and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane.

Virtually all membranes in principle can have nanostructured water …

a small amount of vibrational energy in the water molecules can perturb tertiary protein structures,
ion channels [which] have a huge number of biological pathways.

ATP production can also be stimulated in response to near-infrared exposure, which triggers the mitochondria to produce additional ATP.

your body is fueled by both food and sunlight.

light allows your body to use food more efficiently.

light improves the generation of energy

light seems to combine very well with modest amounts of exercise,

a study from Massachusetts Institute of Technology used 40-hertz light flashing into the eyes to treat Alzheimer's in mice … said 40 hertz was like a magic frequency.

Heliotherapy clinics were all the rage in Europe some 100 years ago.

Patients would visit clinics in the Alps where they'd bask in the sun to treat a wide variety of chronic health conditions.

if you just go and lie in the sun on the beach, all you're getting is a sunbath.
if you go up in the mountains, you're actually getting a medical therapy,"

why is sunlight so much better up in the mountains?
high altitudes, there's much less atmosphere
the lower oxygen level makes your mitochondria work at a different rate.

throughout human history, people have liked to sit around fires …
expose themselves to infrared, a lot of it far infrared. That's [what] you get from glowing embers.
It's only in the last 30 years that people have stopped sitting around fires regularly …
You could say Western civilization is suffering from a deficit of far infrared light.

• Blue light is also good in the morning.
exposing yourself to blue bright light in the morning balances a lot of brain circuits.
It's anti depressant. It kind of gives you more alertness.

• Red light is good for relieving inflammation and inflammatory conditions.
the literature is rife with reports on improving macular degeneration (the most common cause of blindness

• Near infrared is good for regeneration of deeper structures such as tendons, bones and cartilage; orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems.

Red light at night also produces melatonin and helps you sleep.

Near infrared may also be useful for kidney problems.
a powerful therapy for kidney failure. "Kidney failure is the third leading cause of death.

shining the light over your thyroid gland can be useful for autoimmune thyroiditis

Near Infrared Also Benefits Eyes, Diabetes and Athletic Performance

Light Therapy May Boost Cognitive Function

Photons can be absorbed by the blood flowing in the skin

light is very good at activating stem cells in bone marrow.

"A few folks with small trials for Alzheimer's get results so good that nobody can believe them,"

I used these

Hi 90 lo 20 genes Lubuntu

Warm days.
It was 70 at 7:00 PM yesterday.
Then dropped to 40 overnight
20 tonight.

Family records are not useful because there are adoptions, adultery, lies, errors.

Must have DNA genetic records. Genes are a small part of total DNA that impacts DNA expression. Human body contains mostly non human DNA microbiome from diet and history and lifestyle. That helps turn genes on and off. Then epigenetics changes gene expression. Knowing genes does not tell you much without the rest.

I have been installing Lubuntu lightweight Linux on a laptop computer. Tedious.

Bite the bullet. Get mobile in case SHTF. Can live off smart phone and laptop. Fit all in a backpack.

Lots of students hanging out in hammocks. Books. Computers. Phones. Like rolling Stones. Don't need much nowadays.

Get ready to roll.
Or run.
I find indoor walking and exercise unaesthetic but effective. Average 10 miles per day. Adding in some weights.

I thought I was getting leg joint problems but by hard walking they feel much stronger. Was just atrophy. Use it or lose it.

Indoor rubber track 0 foot pain that caused me to walk less than outdoors hiking on uneven surfaces. Shoes last longer. No snakes bugs guns dogs bird shit coyote crazy people snakes cars bikes skateboards rain hail lightning problems I faced daily for years.

Local gay pastor, Christian Church, Protestant

I park at this Church and walk by the art museum to the university a few times, last year.
Nice neighborhood much better than most of San Francisco.
Woman pastor with new  gay co-pastor.

National Avenue Christian Church searching for a new co-pastor,
top of their list of candidates:
Rev. Kevin Cravens-Koch, an openly gay pastor from Kentucky.
accepted the church's offer and moved to Springfield a few weeks ago with his husband, Ryan.

Yellow Pickup practical home

Yellow is a good color
Contrast with snow.
Lighter so not too hot in summer.

Can be painted on practical pickups. Could live in 4 door pickup. Especially with camper on back.

Or painted on lesser vehicles such as Mustangs.

The Aisles Have Eyes

How Retailers Track Your Shopping,
Strip Your Privacy,

A revealing and surprising look at the ways that aggressive consumer advertising and tracking, already pervasive online, are coming to a retail store near you

By one expert's prediction, within twenty years half of Americans will have body implants that tell retailers how they feel about specific products as they browse their local stores.

The notion may be outlandish, but it reflects executives' drive to understand shoppers in the aisles with the same obsessive detail that they track us online.

In fact, a hidden surveillance revolution is already taking place inside brick-and-mortar stores, where Americans still do most of their buying.

Drawing on his interviews with retail executives, analysis of trade publications, and experiences at insider industry meetings, advertising and digital studies expert Joseph Turow pulls back the curtain on these trends, showing how a new hyper-competitive generation of merchants—including Macy's, Target, and Walmart—is already using data mining, in-store tracking, and predictive analytics to change the way we buy, undermine our privacy, and define our reputations.

Eye-opening and timely, Turow's book is essential reading to understand the future of shopping.

Broke college student debt

An article from ATTN talked about the cost of college in 1978 versus 2014 and the comparison was shocking.

In 1978, a student could work for minimum wage during the summer and afford tuition for the whole following year (granted the student went to an in-state public school). Someone wrote a comment on Facebook as a response saying, now a student working over the summer wouldn't even be able to afford their books. Which, in my case, would be true.

The ATTN article stated minimum wage hasn't kept up with inflation as it should, and college tuition and fees have gone up more than 1,000 percent since 1978. This is unthinkable. Also, considering jobs aren't opening up very much, the millennial generation will almost collectively start their adult lives struggling.

So, why has the cost of college increased so much? Many people think it is because the schools receive government grants to add to the schools, as well as loan companies, and the colleges can profit off student debt.

Live in Porsche. Get MD

Sunday get MD doctors at the gym. Driving Porsche. Get rich off disease. Pays better than proper cooking that prevents disease.

College student living in Porsche might attract attention. May be cheaper than some dormitories.

Soros Jew Conspiracy theorists

Why do conspiracy theorists dislike Soros(D) more than Adelson(R)?
Both are Jews so cannot be anti semitism.
Who pays what conspiracy theorist?
$ determine what they say?
Republicans have more $
Adelson is Republican Trumpster so pundits attack Soros (persecuted minority Democrat)?
Wikipedia leaked details on the pundit nut cases.
Long running feud between Ukrainian ghetto people and Hungarian ghetto people?
Why waste time on learning corrupt politics?
Move to DC to get smart on politics but die younger?
Better to learn food, herbs, spices, exercise
Live longer and improve society.
Leave politics to idiot pundits.

Soros was born in Budapest in the Kingdom of Hungary to a well-to-do non-observant Jewish family

many upper-middle class Hungarian Jews at the time, were uncomfortable with their roots.

Soros has described his home as anti-Semitic

In 1936 Soros's family changed their name from the Jewish Schwartz to Soros, as protective camouflage in increasingly anti-Semitic Hungary

Soros is considered by some to be one of the most successful investors in the world.

As of February 2017, Soros has a net worth of $25.2 billion making him one of the 30 richest people in the world

Born in Budapest, he escaped Nazi Germany occupied Hungary and emigrated to England in 1947.

He attended the London School of Economics graduating with bachelor's and eventually a master's in philosophy

His early studies of philosophy lead him to develop and apply Karl Popper's Reflexivity to capital markets, which he claims renders him a clear picture of asset bubbles,

long-running conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family in 19th century Europe

host Glenn Beck aired an hour-long television program, titled The Puppet Master, dedicated to Soros (which he had announced as "D-Day for George Soros").

Accusations he made during this program, specifically that Soros collaborated with the Nazis as a child and that "many people would call him an antisemite", have met with condemnation from groups including the Anti-Defamation League and The American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors and Their Descendants.

Beck continued discussing Soros in his programs of November 10, 2010, and November 11, 2010, making additional claims including that Soros, with the help of others, is attempting to collapse the United States economy in order to help create a new world order.

Beck's statements also drew ridicule from The Daily Show host Jon Stewart in a November 18, 2010, skit titled 'The Manchurian Lunatic', taking aim at Beck by utilizing many tropes which often appear in segments of Beck's eponymous television broadcast.

Beck replied on November 25, 2010, by insinuating that Stewart and fellow Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert are keeping people as "sheep".

Perennial American presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche and his movement have also published a body of literature which claims Soros is a leader of the international illegal drug trade.

LaRouche's anti-Soros stance dates back to the 1990s, with Michael Lewis of The New Republic citing an anti-Soros protest by members of the LaRouche movement in a January 10, 1994, profile;

the charge has been repeated in the years since by the longest-serving Republican Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, and Accuracy in Media's right-wing extremist Cliff Kincaid

Some Soros-backed pro-democracy initiatives have been banned in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia.

Soros wrote in his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism: Open Society Endangered, that he is politically active in many East European countries, including Russia, through his Open Society Foundations, aiming to change the political system in these countries.

Naomi Klein wrote in her book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism that Soros acted with Jeffery Sachs to aim these goals.

The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused Soros of being responsible for the European migrant crisis and endanger democracy in Europe.

80 degrees

Finally spring
We were 20 below zero in December. 100 degree jump in 6 weeks. Feels like San Diego. Weather here is often good due to oscillations between too hot and too cold. 2 days makes a big difference.

Huge empty hospital parking lots. Play in sun more important than hypochondriacs ripping off Obamacare taxpayers.

0 interest rate. apartment: Home Dodge ram

Most people do not need a vehicle.
Just rent an apartment and walk everywhere for better exercise, restaurants, coffee shops, colleges, gymnasiums, etc.
Fly if you have to travel distance, or train.
Get ready for SHTF fast travel may be needed to other continents and hemispheres.
Save the cost and trouble of vehicle maintenance use Uber.
Any vehicle or physical possession is a theft target, and an anchor if SHTF, or a cause of SHTF.

Low interest rates have caused an explosion of apartments being built in good locations.
Rents are low because the cost of financing is low, near zero.
Investors like to get the rent which is higher returns than zero interest rate bonds, cds, etc.

But for college students they maybe cannot afford apartments because of outrageous tuition.
So a van might be a cheaper option.

A problem of working in Silicon Valley, SF, East bay is constant meetings in strange places all over the San Francisco Bay Area.
Also Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Las Vegas, etc.
USA has very poor city planning.

Need a place to rest between meetings, wait until traffic dies down, etc.
Could make a nice comfy pocket to rest and work between meetings, classes, etc.
No bed bugs, crazy people, germs, viruses, etc in your own van.
Just a lot of trouble to maintain a van.

If you are retired get rid of all vehicles.
Get apartment near university and learn how to maintain and improve your health.
You may also get smart enough to un-retire and do some important work.
Trump will not be able to make USA great again with the stupid fat slob addicts we got now.
Progress will require better mental and physical health.

Devalue $ Re: Trumponomics?

Trump needs a weak dollar.
He must devalue the dollar so USA exports can compete better overseas.
USA has been running a huge deficit since Bill Clinton NAFTA and other sorry trade arrangements.
China and other countries have been deflating their currencies to gain advantage in trade.
Trump needs to retaliate now.
Free market in currencies.
Either force competitors to let their currencies inflate or USA will deflate the US$.
Get USA factories working to provide jobs making exports again.
Quit importing so much junk.
Learn to make high quality American products for Americans.
Graph below on how bad Clinton Bush Obama deficits have been after Clinton got the deficit snowball rolling downhill.
The 2008 crash stopped some imports but more remains.
I think money laundering is involved with a lot of this, and illegal drug imports are not counted so the situation is worse than it appears.
Ken Rogoff plan to eliminate the 100 $  bill may help but is not well thought out.

OMG Trump Called a General at 3 A.M. to Ask if the U.S. Should Have a Strong or Weak Dollar Policy

The Huffington Post reports:
President Donald Trump was confused about the dollar: Was it a strong one that's good for the economy? Or a weak one?

So he made a call ― except not to any of the business leaders Trump brought into his administration or even to an old friend from his days in real estate. Instead, he called his national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, according to two sources familiar with Flynn's accounts of the incident.

Flynn has a long record in counterintelligence but not in macroeconomics. And he told Trump he didn't know, that it wasn't his area of expertise, that, perhaps, Trump should ask an economist instead.

Trump was not thrilled with that response ― but that may have been a function of the time of day. Trump had placed the call at 3 a.m., according to one of Flynn's retellings ― although neither the White House nor Flynn's office responded to requests for confirmation about that detail.

82-year-old lady loves Obama

I almost DIDN'T read this, but I'm glad I did !!!!
Don't know what old lady came up with this if she
even exists but she may be right. Whoever wrote this is right on!
This is certainly a different way to look at what's happened!
One 82-year-old lady loves Obama and she may have a very good point. She says that Obama is amazing, and is rebuilding the American dream! She gives us an entirely new slant on the "amazing" job Obama is doing, and she says that she will thank God for the President.
Keep reading for her additional comments and an explanation. When discussing Obama, she says:
1. Obama destroyed the Clinton Political Machine, driving a stake through the heart of Hillary's presidential aspirations -something no Republican was ever able to do.
2. Obama killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - no more Kennedys trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home.
3. Obama is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes!  Dennis Moore had never lost a race.  Evan Bayh had never lost a race.  Byron Dorgan had never lost a race.  Harry Reid - soon to be GONE!  These are just a  handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed. By the end of 2016, dozens more will be gone.
Just think, in December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In two election cycles, they had picked up 14 Senate seats and 52 House seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. However, in just one term, Obama put a stop to all of this and gave the House and the Senate back to the Republicans.
4. Obama has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are.  Sadly, every generation seems to need to re-learn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge.  Obama is bringing home the lesson very well:  Liberals tax, borrow and spend.  Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America.  Liberals want to take over the economy. Liberals think they know what is best for everyone.  Liberals are not happy until they are running YOUR life.
5. Obama has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan.  In one term, he had rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the streets millions of freedom loving Americans. Name one other time when you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America!
6. Obama, with his "amazing leadership," has sparked the greatest period of sales of firearms and ammunition this country has seen. Law abiding citizens have rallied and have provided a "stimulus" to the sporting goods field while other industries have failed, faded, or moved off-shore.
7. In  all honesty, 4 years ago I was more afraid than I have been in my life.  Not afraid of the economy, but afraid of the direction our country was going.  I thought, Americans have forgotten what this country is all about. My neighbors and friends, even strangers, have proved to me that my lack of confidence in the greatness and wisdom of the American people has been flat wrong!
8. When the American people wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them!  Barack Obama has served to wake up these great Americans!
Again, I want to say: "Thank you, Barack Obama!"  After all, this is exactly the kind of hope and change we desperately needed!!
9. He has saved Carter's legacy and made Jimmy Carter happy, since Jimmy is no longer the worst we've ever had.  Credit goes to where credit is due.  I feel better now!

Fake data used for Climate change scam...

> A just-retired scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has blown the whistle on a scandal of epic proportions involving fake news ginned up by climate “scientists.” Dr. John Bates, who until the end of 2016 was one of NOAA’s top scientists, told the story to the Daily Mail:
>> The Mail on Sunday today reveals astonishing evidence that the organisation that is the world’s leading source of climate data rushed to publish a landmark paper that exaggerated global warming and was timed to influence the historic Paris Agreement on climate change.
>> A high-level whistleblower has told this newspaper that America’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) breached its own rules on scientific integrity when it published the sensational but flawed report, aimed at making the maximum possible impact on world leaders including Barack Obama and David Cameron at the UN climate conference in Paris in 2015.
>> The report claimed that the ‘pause’ or ‘slowdown’ in global warming in the period since 1998 – revealed by UN scientists in 2013 – never existed, and that world temperatures had been rising faster than scientists expected. Launched by NOAA with a public relations fanfare, it was splashed across the world’s media, and cited repeatedly by politicians and policy makers.
>> But the whistleblower, Dr John Bates, a top NOAA scientist with an impeccable reputation, has shown The Mail on Sunday irrefutable evidence that the paper was based on misleading, ‘unverified’ data.
> NOAA violated its own rules by publishing the report without subjecting it to required verification procedures–procedures that were designed by Dr. Bates himself.
>> His vehement objections to the publication of the faulty data were overridden by his NOAA superiors in what he describes as a ‘blatant attempt to intensify the impact’ of what became known as the Pausebuster paper.
> Of all the “fake news” stories that emerged in the last two years, this is undoubtedly the most important. More:
>> NOAA’s 2015 ‘Pausebuster’ paper was based on two new temperature sets of data – one containing measurements of temperatures at the planet’s surface on land, the other at the surface of the seas.
>> Both datasets were flawed.

buy PDR. High altitude healthy Arizona

I found high altitude Tahoe much better breathing than foggy wet San Francisco Bay area that was much better than Fresno death valley.
Flagstaff Prescott Arizona are high, south, sunny fairly low cost, low tax area close to Phoenix Mayo Clinic and Medical colleges.
Much cooler and nicer than Las Vegas nearby without all the vice, gambling, tobacco, seedy atmosphere, etc.

Say no to drugs.
I took 9 pills in my life, mostly aspirin that I thought might be preventative but I don't like it.
If you must take drugs get a used copy of PDR Physicians Desk Reference.
Cheap at Amazon or free at medical school trash cans new edition each year for all the new drugs and studies.
More than one drug you really got to study carefully the interactions.
Also interactions with foods, lotions, etc.
Nobody knows it all, doctors don't have time to learn, PharmD knows more but not enough.
On this topic People's Pharmacy has good free download podcasts this week.
